Bella Peralta is internationally renowned as a multidisciplinary artist, whose work is centered around the interconnectedness of life. Her work includes traditional weavings and more contemporary expressions in printmaking and painting, her heritage being from generations of weavers and artists descended from the arts and crafts movement in the Cotswolds, England.
Bella's life has been immersed in fine craft, art and nature. She has followed this path to the remote regions of Africa and the Pacific North West America, Mexico and Europe connecting with indigenous peoples and nature. This continues to be the main focus of her work. She is currently working on weaving.
Bella established a studio in Northern California in 1974 traveling between her studio in England. She set up a weaving center in Weaverville working with youths through T.O.T.(Trinity Occupational Training). She received a C.A.C./ N. E. A. (California Arts Council National Endowment for the Arts) Residency for 3yrs working with youths to create large format Murals for Public Installations, to encourage youth’s artistic expression. Also she worked for 8yrs with T.O.T./Arts Council to create murals with summer youth, an on going project.
